LATIN COURSES | KASTANJA RAUHALA
Three three-week courses | Two levels
Latin classes taught by Kastanja Rauhala on Sundays in Helsinki in spring 2025.
Each course lasts three weeks, followed by a two-week break.
All of Kastanja's courses cover different Latin styles in a style that suits Wonder Club's customers. The classes have a Sensual Latin feel with a slight touch of Commercial.
RUDIMENTS
You don't need any previous dance background. The genre varies per section and includes Rumba, among others. You can participate in one section or all of them if you want!
OPEN LEVEL
Previous dance background (lattari or other dance background) recommended. The style varies per session and includes Cha cha cha style!

YOUR TEACHER KASTANJA RAUHALA
Teacher: Kastanja Rauhala
A familiar TV star (Dancing with the Stars), Finnish Championship gold medalist and charismatic commercial expert. In Kastanja's classes you will learn to throw yourself into the action and dance as if you were on stage – just the way it should be!
Kastanja Rauhala is a dance teacher who became famous from the show Dancing with the Stars.
Rauhala is a successful competitive dancer who has achieved Finnish Championship gold and dozens of other Finnish Championship medal placements during her career, including winning the Finnish Champion Latin Dance Championship in 2022. During her career, she has represented the Finnish national team and represented Finland in several World and European Championships, with achievements including the Junior 10-dance World Championship semi-final and the semi-final of the prestigious International Open competition held in England.
Rauhala has participated in the Dancing with the Stars program for the first time in 2024, placing second. Again in 2025, placing second again! In addition, Kastanja Rauhala has been seen as a dancer and lead actress in the platinum-streaming song Ympyrää by artist Isaac Senen. She has also worked as a dance teacher and coach for dancers of different levels, both children and adults. Rauhala is known for her positive and encouraging teaching style, and she has received much praise for getting her students to throw themselves into dancing and enjoy it.
Previously, Kastanja has also been seen performing in the first season of Dancing with the Stars and in the Talent Finland program, reaching the semi-finals with her dance performance.
Lesson descriptions
DANCE LESSON LEVELS
You can participate in classes of any level except Twerk, where it would be good to progress gradually, starting from the basics due to the technical nature of the sport. The levels of the dance classes help teachers plan a suitably challenging class and the customer can assess the challenge of the class based on the level. If you want to challenge yourself, you can also try more challenging classes. We always try to offer the opportunity to change the level if the chosen level is too easy or difficult.
OPEN LEVEL:
Everyone is welcome to the class – you can participate even without previous experience or with a little background if you are not afraid of a little challenge. The content of the classes is often adapted to the participants.
BEGINNERS / ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS:
The course is aimed at complete beginners. During the class you will learn the basics in a relaxed manner – no previous dance experience is required.
ELEMENTARY CONTENT:
This level is suitable if you have already learned the sport at a beginner level. The class deepens previously learned skills and teaches more technique. If you have any dance background, you can participate in the beginner advanced classes regardless of the sport (the exception is Twerk, where you should take either a beginner course or, for example, an online basic course).
ADVANCED / INTERMEDIATE:
The class is suitable for those who already have experience in the sport (or similar) (e.g. 1–2 seasons). The class often includes more challenging movements and choreographies.
INT./ADV. (intermediate-advanced)
We can also talk about a challenging open level class. The level of the class is intermediate-advanced. However, it is often not as challenging as the clear advanced level classes.
ADVANCED:
This level is intended for those who have been practicing the sport for a while. The tempo is faster and the choreography is more demanding – requiring good basic technique.
